She’s been called the “Erin Brokovich” of the Insurance Industry. After a car accident, Dr. Joan’s insurance company wrongfully terminated her disability benefits, turning her world from riches to rags almost overnight.
Talk show host, speaker and author, Dr. Joan is perhaps best known as the Poster Child for victims of insurance company fraud and for her fight against her own insurance company’s attempt to avoid paying rightful claims.
Ultimately, she won a major lawsuit against Unum Provident for fraud, resulting in a positive and permanent change in case law that impacts hundreds of thousands of claimants in the courts today.
